The Holy River Meeting

Triveni Sangam.

At Prayagraj, the Ganga and Yamuna rivers meet at the Sangam, which is known as one of the holiest places in Hindu tradition. People believe a third hidden river, the Saraswati, also joins here, making it Triveni (three streams) Sangam.

For families doing Pitra Puja — like Pind Daan, Asthi Visarjan, Tarpan, and Shraddh — Triveni Sangam is a very lucky and holy place. The holy waters are a big part of these pujas.
